Prospects of Accounting Career in the 21st Century
EVENT DESCRIPTION
On November 11, 2019, a seminar titled “Prospects of Accounting Career in the 21st Century” was held by the M.H. School of Business of Presidency University. The principal motive of arranging that program was to get the students acquainted with the corporate world, and to enable them in developing a connection between academic and corporate world as well. The resource speaker was Mr. Md. Arifur Rahman, Senior Manager of Accounts & Financial Reporting, Bangladesh Express Company Ltd. (the only licensee of FedEx Express Inc. in Bangladesh). He discussed about the responsibilities & major functions of accountants in profit making concerns. Besides this, he focused on opportunities & challenges of accountants in this complex business world, and required qualities for accounting profession as well. He also emphasized on various interview techniques among the students. Business students from different semesters attended the program. The interaction between the students & the keynote speaker made the seminar an effective one.
Among others, honorable VC & Pro-VC of Presidency University, honorable Advisor of Presidency University, honorable Dean & Chairperson of M.H. School of Business, honorable Proctor of Presidency University were present in that seminar. Other faculty members of M.H. School of Business were also present in this seminar. The program was coordinated by Ms. Shahreen Sonia, Assistant Professor of Accounting from M.H. School of Business.
