{"id":1054,"date":"2025-05-07T16:29:11","date_gmt":"2025-05-07T10:29:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/pu.edu.bd\/english\/curriculum\/syllabus-version-2\/"},"modified":"2025-06-25T17:05:18","modified_gmt":"2025-06-25T11:05:18","slug":"syllabus-version-2","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/pu.edu.bd\/english\/curriculum\/syllabus-version-2\/","title":{"rendered":"MA in English Language Teaching (ELT) Syllabus"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2 style=\"font-family:helvetica\"><strong>MA in ELT Syllabus<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>The MA in ELT program consists of 22 courses from four different categories: general education, core, elective, and internship\/dissertation.<br \/>\nThe Department of English offers MA in ELT in under three different arrangements &#8211; <\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>36 credits for one year program <\/li>\n<li>48 credits for one and a half year program<\/li>\n<li>60 credits for two years program<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2 style=\"font-family:helvetica\"><strong>Admission Requirements for MA in ELT Program<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>An applicant seeking admission into the MA in ELT Programme must have completed a bachelor\u201fs degree with a minimum CGPA of 2.0 or second division. Candidates with the following qualifications are eligible for admission: <\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Four-year BA (Honours) in English; <\/li>\n<li>Four-year honours degree in any discipline other than English with or without active teaching experience and proven skills; and <\/li>\n<li>Three-year bachelor\u201fs (honours or pass) degree in any discipline with or without active teaching experience and proven skills. <\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>However, extra credit requirements apply to all students in categories 2 and 3, as recommended by the Admission Committee according to the needs of the individual students.<\/p>\n<h2 style=\"font-family:helvetica\"><strong>Total Minimum Credits Required to Complete the Programme <\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Students will be required to complete at least 36 credits to get an MA in ELT degree.
