He holds a Ph.D. in Law from The University of Newcastle, Australia, where he received the HDR Best Thesis Award 2025.Dr. Islam has published 16 peer-reviewed journal articles and one book chapter, with several publications in Scopus-indexed journals. His areas of expertise include Restorative Justice, International Humanitarian Law, Maritime Law, Criminal Law, and Islamic Law of Inheritance. He is actively engaged in teaching, curriculum development, research supervision, and academic administration.
