The quality and relevance of education the young generation in Bangladesh receives is of great importance to our country\u2019s development. The nation, therefore, has a great stake in how our universities are educating and training the students. Soon after the emergence of Bangladesh in 1971, the public universities were stretched to their limits in accommodating the growing number of students seeking higher education. To prevent the outflow of talented students to foreign universities, the government of Bangladesh enacted the Private University Act 1992 which increased the educational opportunities within the country. The Presidency University Foundation, a dynamic group of 30 teachers, leaders of business and industry, and retired government officers, came together and petitioned the government for a permit to establish and operate Presidency University. On July 21, 2003, the Ministry of Education (MoE) of the Government of Bangladesh (GoB), in keeping with the Private University Act 1992, authorized the establishment and operation of Presidency University. Thereafter, Presidency University opened its door to students in September of 2003.<\/div>\n

The Department of Law and Justice at Presidency University offers both bachelor\u2019s and master\u2019s degrees in law, designed to equip students with a strong foundation in legal theory and practical skills. Needless to say, LLM program is divided into two. One is for 1 year and the other is for 2 years. Students who have completed 4-year long LLB program from any university are eligible to admit in 1-year LLM whereas those who have completed 2-year long LLB under the National University have to admit in 2-year LLM.<\/p>\n

The department is supported by a group of highly qualified and experienced faculty members who graduated from the University of Dhaka. They not only deliver quality legal education but also mentor students in developing critical thinking, research abilities, and professional competencies necessary for a successful legal career. In addition to academic excellence, the department places strong emphasis on co-curricular engagement. Students are actively encouraged to participate in moot court competitions, debates, legal writing, and other skill-building activities. Many of our students have already represented the university at prestigious national and international competitions, bringing recognition and pride to the institution. With its blend of rigorous academics and rich extracurricular opportunities, the Department of Law and Justice strives to produce competent, ethical, and socially responsible legal professionals.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/section>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/section>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"The quality and relevance of education the young generation in Bangladesh receives is of great importance to our country\u2019s development.
