Dr. Mohammad Samiul Islam is a distinguished academician specializing in Agricultural Economics. He currently serves as the Head and Associate Professor of the Department of Economics at Presidency University, Dhaka. Dr. Islam earned his PhD in Agricultural Economics from Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) in 2023, supported by the International Rice Research Institute (IRRI) scholarship. He previously completed his BSc and MSc in Agricultural Economics from Bangladesh Agricultural University.

With over 14 years of teaching experience, Dr. Islam has taught a wide range of economics courses and supervised more than 12 research students. His research focuses on technology adoption, impact assessment, and agricultural development, with numerous publications in reputed international journals. He has also served as a peer reviewer for several academic journals and remains actively engaged in promoting quality research and policy-relevant studies in economics.
