Presidency University hosted a seminar on “Bangladesh Economy: Prospects and Challenges” as part of its Industry-Academia Lecture Series, bringing together leading economists, industry leaders, and academicians. Dr. Hossain Zillur Rahman, Chairman of PPRC, served as the Chief Guest, discussing Bangladeshβs economic trends and challenges. Professor Dr. Anwarul Kabir, Principal Advisor of the university, attended as Guest of Honor, while Mohammad Hatem, President of BKMEA, addressed the future of Bangladeshβs apparel industry.
Dr. Mohammad Samiul Islam, Chairman of the Economics Department, presented the keynote paper, emphasizing the need for stronger industry-education-technology linkages for sustainable growth. Vice-Chancellor Dr. Abdul Mannan Choudhury presided over the event, highlighting the role of students and academia in economic progress.
The seminar, attended by faculty, researchers, students, and industry leaders, featured discussions on economic policies, industrial challenges, and future strategies. Presidency University aims to continue such initiatives to foster economic research and policy development.
