Md. Habibullah, an Associate Professor, joined the Department of English at Presidency University on January 1, 2018. At PU, he has taught a wide range of courses, including Romantic Literature, Victorian Literature, Modern Literature, Postcolonial Literature, and Shakespearean
Drama. In addition, he serves as an Adjunct Faculty in English at the Department of Arabic, University of Dhaka.
His research interests center on the interplay between religion and English literature, postcolonial studies, and global cultural politics. His scholarly articles have been published in several Scopus- indexed journals, such as Asiatic (IIUM), Journal of Muslim Minority Affairs (Routledge),
Victoriographies (Edinburgh University Press), and CLCWeb: Comparative Literature and Culture (Purdue University Press).
Md. Habibullah completed his Honour’s in English and Masters in English Literature from the Department of English at University of Dhaka. For his MPhil at Bangladesh University of Professionals (BUP), he conducted a comparative study of V.S. Naipaul’s Islamic travelogues and Daniel Pipes’ Islamic historiography. Currently, he is pursuing a PhD in the Department of English at the University of Dhaka, where his research explores postcolonially narrativization of Islam in contemporary American fiction, focusing on the works of John Updike, Don DeLillo, Amy Waldman, and Shaila Abdullah.
