Dr. Fatema Sayed obtained her B.Sc. and M.Sc. degree from the Department of Physics at Jahangirnagar University, Dhaka, Bangladesh. She has completed her PhD on theoretical plasma physics at The University of Sydney, Australia (top 100 university in world ranking), one of the prestigious University. Her research expertise in Plasma Physics comprises both dusty plasma and quantum plasma. The focus of her PhD thesis work was on modulational interactions in quantum plasmas.
After finishing her PhD she joined at Yokohama national university, Japan to work as a postdoctoral researcher. In postdoc, her research work was on quantum dusty plasmas, that describe nonlinear coupling of high frequency Langmuir waves to low frequency plasma density variations, for cases of non-degenerate and degenerate plasma electrons. Her research interest is to employ prior knowledge to address new phenomena in High Energy Plasma and to extend expertise in Complex Plasma (soft matter). Dr. Fatema Sayed is an Assistant Professor of Physics in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at Presidency University, Dhaka, Bangladesh. She joined at Presidency University as an Assistant Professor in July 2022.
