Md. Deedarul Islam Bhuiyan is an academician and legal professional with extensive experience in teaching, research, and academic leadership. He currently serves as the Assistant Professor and Head of the Department of Law and Justice at Presidency University, Dhaka. Mr. Bhuiyan holds an LL.B. (Hons.) and an LL.M. from the Department of Law, University of Dhaka. Prior to joining Presidency University, he served as the Head of the Department of Law at Sonargaon University, where he played a pivotal role in academic coordination, curriculum development, and institutional governance.
His areas of specialization include Constitutional Law, Comparative Family Law, International Law, and Environmental Law. He has published scholarly articles in reputed international journals and actively engages in research on contemporary legal issues, including constitutional reform, public interest litigation, and sustainable development. An advocate enrolled with the Bangladesh Bar Council, Mr. Bhuiyan is also a member of the Dhaka Bar Association, Supreme Court Bar Association, and Bangladesh Law Association. He is known for his commitment to fostering critical thinking, legal ethics, and student-centered learning in legal education.
In addition to his academic responsibilities, he has chaired and participated in various seminars, workshops, and moot court initiatives. He is passionate about mentoring future legal professionals and contributing to the advancement of legal scholarship and justice-oriented education in Bangladesh.
